Will it be as successful as other productions of the French giant?
Ubisoft announces free NFT mining – starting on Monday, December 18
Mining Warlords, i.e. Ethereum NFT for their latest game, will be completely free, apart from the necessary gas fee. The NFT mint will start on Monday, December 18 at 12:00 for those on the “darklist”, while the public mint will start at 8:00 p.m. The sale of NFTs in such projects is one of the main sources of revenue for the studio, but in this unique case, Ubisoft announced that the first 8,000 Warlords NFTs will be completely free.
In the game, Warlords will act as account avatars in a pixel art style. However, Ubisoft announces that having Warlord in their cryptocurrency wallet will allow such a user to have another mint, this time of playable characters within the game. Warlord NFT owners will be able to mint 5 Champions Tactics heroes for free over the next few weeks. Although Warlords NFT will be mined on the Ethereum network, the game will be based on the Oasys blockchain, which is compatible with Ethereum.
Champions Tactics, i.e. Ubisoft is entering Web3 gaming with a bang
According to official information, 9,999 Warlods NFTs will be minted, and another 1,000 will be distributed to the Oasys blockchain community. Moreover, Ubisoft is to create 999 unique NFTs for future marketing purposes and giveways. Although about the game itself in the context of gameplay, Ubisoft has revealed some secrecy when it comes to the lore of the world. It is worth noting that the world of Grimora has been presented quite thoroughly and the game is clearly an ambitious project, not a shell based on selling as many NFT tokens as possible.
Seven nations and an aesthetic slightly reminiscent of Warhammer (both classic and 40k) aroused the interest of Web3 players. It is worth mentioning that Ubisoft has recently confirmed cooperation with such Web3 gaming projects as Pixelmon and CyberKongz. This is a clear signal that the French giant takes this project very seriously and sees in it the potential to conquer the Web3 gaming market.
