Roman Storm, co -creator of Tornado Cash, who faces 45 years in prison, may apply for annulment of the trial. Reason? Testimonies of one of the witnesses.
The creator of Tornado Cash, however, innocent?
Roman Storm’s lawyers, co -founder of Tornado Cash, may apply for annul the client’s process. All in connection with the testimonies of one of the witnesses.
It’s about Hanfenga Lin, who testified in the matter of Storm. She said that a cryptocurrency fraudster had extorted as much as $ 190,000 from her via WhatsAppa. Everything happened in 2022, when a person who convinced her to invest in Bitcoin spoke through the application to the injured party. Lin claimed that she had paid dollars to the indicated account, but in return she did not receive BTC – she was robbed. She claimed that her funds were converted into cryptocurrencies and sent to Tornado Cash. Only now it turns out that there is no evidence of the support of this thesis.
Based on our studies conducted over the weekend
David Patton, lawyer Storma.
We must consult Mr. Storm regarding the application for annulment of the trial

Court error?
The Rage information portal announced that Storma lawyers interrogated the government expert for tracking cryptocurrencies, the Special Agent FBI Joseph Decapua, who testified that he was not ordered to analyze transactions on the case of lines, and this suggests that the process was badly prepared and the evidence was not well analyzed. And this is the foundation to annul the process.
Storm is threatened with up to 45 years in prison. In 2023, he was accused of a conspiracy aimed at laundering, violating the US sanctions and conducting unlimited activities related to money laundering. All this was to enable the Tornado Cash cryptocurrency mixer.
Storm was accused with his colleague Roman Semenov, who has not yet appeared in court and is probably in his native Russia.
The case is important because if Storm is convicted of a signal for DeFi creators – they will see that they can be locked up in prison only because someone used their protocol for illegal purposes.
