Price comparison of individual generative artificial intelligence tools

Generative artificial intelligence tools are emerging like mushrooms. Which of them are the best and most useful? What is the monthly cost of using such tools? In this text, I present the best generative artificial intelligence tools for creating texts, graphics and videos, along with the price of their monthly subscription.

LLMs, i.e. chat bots for everything

November 30, 2022 changed a lot, because that was when ChatGPT 3.5, the first Large Language Model available to everyone, had its world premiere. Generative artificial intelligence tools have since become available to everyone. Moments after the release of version 3.5, the upcoming release of ChatGPT 4 and a paid subscription was announced. Other players on the AI market, such as Anthropic and the giant Google, also decided to follow in the footsteps set by OpenAI. Although OpenAI’s competition is effectively trying to catch up with the AI industry leader, the startup founded by Sam Altman and Elon Musk is still ahead in the number of users.

ChatGPT (OpenAI)

A tool from OpenAI that hardly needs any introduction, because over the last 2 years there has been a lot of talk about it in many places (e.g. on our website). The most basic subscription, i.e. Plus, costs approximately PLN 90 per month and provides access to all the most important models from OpenAI, including the Advanced Voice Mode.

  • Plus Subscription: USD 20 per month (approximately PLN 90). Provides access to GPT-4, GPT-4o, o1 preview, o1-mini and DALL·E 3 graphics generation tools.
  • Team subscription: Okay. USD 40 per user per month (approx. PLN 180). This subscription allows people on one team to work in a shared space.
  • Enterprise subscription: The price is determined individually depending on the company’s needs, but on average it can range from several hundred to several thousand zlotys per month, with unlimited access to GPT-4o and additional functions, such as advanced data protection.

Claude (Anthropic)

OpenAI’s biggest competitor, which was once even considered a favorite, especially when it comes to processing large documents. Claude is an LLM from Anthropic, which stands out for its very analytical approach and is especially recommended by scientists.

  • Claude Pro: USD 25 per month (approx. PLN 113). It offers advanced text processing with higher limits.

Gemini (Google AI)

Google missed its chance to launch generative artificial intelligence tools, which is why OpenAI was the industry leader from the very beginning. Over time, however, Google presented its AI Chatbot, which turned out to be… quite specific when it comes to understanding prompts and generating sensible answers. These were the beginnings, because BardAI was quickly renamed Gemini, which now actually presents an appropriate level, especially due to the fact that it comes from such a giant as Google. Although Google is available for free, its paid subscriptions are as follows:

  • Gemini Advanced USD 20 per month (approximately PLN 97). 2 TB of cloud storage. Enables advanced AI features such as tutoring and programming. Free two-month trial period.

Generating graphics with AI – a revolution in art?

The year 2022 is considered the year of the beginning of the generative revolution not only because of the appearance of ChatuGPT. In 2022, another tool of generative artificial intelligence was released, which completely changed the way we perceive images seen online today. We are, of course, talking about AI graphics generators such as Midjourney. When it comes to this iconic tool, which is now synonymous with an AI generator that is able to create photorealistic graphics, the price list is as follows.

  • Basic subscription -USD 10 per month (approx. PLN 45), limited number of image generations.
  • Standard subscription -30 USD per month (approx. PLN 135), unlimited image generation.
  • Pro subscription – USD 60 per month (approx. PLN 270) with higher priorities and dedicated server resources.

Ideogram

Another AI graphics generator that stands out not only for its photorealism, but also for very precise application of text to graphics. Although it is currently available for free, paid subscriptions are also available:

  • Basic – USD 7 per month (approx. PLN 27) up to 1,500 graphics per month.
  • Plus – USD 16 per month (approx. PLN 60) up to 4,000 graphics per month.
  • Pro – USD 48 per month (approx. PLN 180) up to 12,000 graphics per month.

DALL·E 3

Available as part of ChatGPT Plus, for PLN 90/month. The generative artificial intelligence tool creates detailed images based on text descriptions. Thanks to this, it is a subscription to the tool for generating AI graphics, which is included in the price of ChatuGPT Plus itself. It is worth adding that although DALL-E 3 generates images in a quite specific style, its capabilities are increasing with each update.

Video generation – cinematography of tomorrow

With the advent of image generators, tools capable of generating videos also appeared. Although their beginnings looked downright meme, after only a year, these tools are able to create realistic-looking short video clips. Although Sora from OpenAI is supposed to be the leader in this segment of tools, we still don’t know much about this clip generator. Therefore, the gap in 2024 was decided to be filled by other providers of such services, who do not offer such excellent quality as that presented in Sora (even 1-minute one-shot shots), but it is sufficient quality for e.g. social media.

KlingAI

The Chinese answer to Sora, which first debuted in the Middle Kingdom and later also entered the European and American markets. Generating animations in KlingAI is possible both from a prompt (text-to-video) and using an image (image-to-video). This generative artificial intelligence tool is particularly popular among social media content creators.

  • Basic plan: USD 29 per month (approx. PLN 130) for simple video projects.
  • Pro plan: USD 99 per month (approx. PLN 445) for more advanced features and larger generation limits.

Haiper

A project of former Google DeepMind employees, which turned out to be a commercial hit and showed the possibilities of generative artificial intelligence tools for creating short films. HaiperAI offers satisfactory quality of AI clips, and its price list is as follows:

  • Explorer – USD 8 per month (approx. PLN 30) unlimited number of clips and 1,500 credits for more advanced generations.
  • Pro – USD 24 per month (approx. PLN 91) unlimited number of clips and 5,000 credits for more advanced generations.

Luma Dream Machine

Luma Dream Machine is an advanced generative artificial intelligence tool created by Luma Labs that allows you to quickly generate high-quality video from text and images. It is in direct competition with the above tools, especially considering the quality of the AI clips generated. Price list for this tool:

  • Lite – USD 7.99 (approx. PLN 30) up to 70 clips of 5 seconds per month
  • Standard – USD 23.99 (approx. PLN 91) up to 150 clips of 5 seconds per month
  • Plus – USD 51.99 (approx. PLN 198) for 310 clips per month
  • Pro – USD 79.99 (approx. PLN 305) for 480 clips per month
  • Prime minister – 399.99 (approx. PLN 1,528) up to 2,430 clips per month

Are generative artificial intelligence tools the future? Definitely yes!

Generative AI tools are a great example of how AI can be a powerful tool rather than an autonomous threat. From advanced text and image generation (ChatGPT, Claude, MidJourney, DALL·E 3) to innovative video creation tools (KlingAI, Haiper, Luma Dream Machine), each of these solutions offers users functionalities that help in creative work, analysis and automation. These examples emphasize that AI mainly serves as a tool to support our activities, as long as it is used appropriately.
