Cryptocurrencies and Polish investors
The above is reflected in another ranking: cryptocurrencies have become the sixth most popular asset class among survey participants. Before them there were, among others: shares and ETFs from the WSE and foreign exchanges.
We can also look at what cryptocurrencies the study participants invested in, as this time a distinction was made between bitcoin and altcoins. 31.1% of survey participants answered that they invested capital in “any cryptocurrencies”, 24.7% indicated bitcoin, and 22.8% “other” digital assets, probably ether and altcoins.
It is also worth analyzing the age of investors. The percentage of older people investing in cryptocurrencies is unexpectedly growing. More and more 40- and 50-year-olds appear on this market, which somehow contradicts the fact that these assets are only for young people.
I must remind you here that BTC, ETH, SOL and XPR ETFs have appeared on the Polish market, which may increase the demand for digital securities, especially among older traders.
It is also worth looking at investing the amount that a single investor puts into Bitcoin and altcoins. We have full diversity in this field: from several thousand PLN to millions of investments.
Finally, I must add that investors think of cryptocurrencies as a long-term investment. When asked about the period for which an investor invested capital in digital assets, the dominant answers were up to 5 years and over 5 years.
What does this mean?
To sum up, the results of the National Investor Survey 2025 clearly show that cryptocurrencies have become a permanent fixture in the portfolios of Polish investors and are no longer treated as a niche or speculative curiosity. The growing number of investors, the increasing age diversity of market participants and the wide range of invested amounts prove that this segment is maturing. Additionally, the fact that many investors view cryptocurrencies as a long-term investment indicates growing confidence in this asset class. It can therefore be concluded that the importance of cryptocurrencies in Poland will continue to grow, especially with the development of new financial instruments and greater market availability for various groups of investors.
