President Joe Biden has dropped out of the race for the White House. He has officially endorsed Kamala Harris, whom he sees as his successor. What does the current vice president say about cryptocurrencies?
Joe Biden resigns
Joe Biden announced yesterday that he was ending his election campaign and thus dropping out of the race for re-election. In his next post, he endorsed Kamala Harris, the current vice president, whom he sees as – at least officially – the next occupant of the White House.
Why did Biden make this decision? From the beginning of his administration, he did not take Harris seriously. She was sent on less serious diplomatic missions, and she was supposed to deal with the issue of illegal immigration. The latter was pushing her onto a mine. In addition, her laughter is almost meme-like in the US. She is the object of mockery and jokes.
It was probably not Biden who “bet” on Harris, but his campaign donors. The current vice president was supposed to meet with them a few days ago. She had to get their approval and confirmation that they would not withdraw their financial support for the Democratic campaign.
Of course, all this still doesn’t mean that Harris will be the party’s candidate in the presidential election. The party’s convention will be held in August. It is during this convention that the final candidate will be chosen. The vice president has the best chance of success. Formally, everything will be decided in a few weeks.
What does Kamala Harris think about cryptocurrencies?
We don’t know what Harris’s thoughts are on cryptocurrencies. She’s never spoken publicly on the subject. So she’s an unknown quantity for the cryptocurrency industry.
One clue is that one of the Democratic Party’s top donors is Mike Novogratz, a businessman who is a bitcoin fan. But that’s not enough to make Harris a good choice for the digital asset industry.
Donald Trump may still be considered the most pro-crypto candidate in this race. And he has a better chance of winning. Unless the Democrats perform a miracle and convince Americans that their vice president is the better choice. They have a very difficult task ahead of them.
