The Polish Olympic Committee is entering the world of cryptocurrencies. In a groundbreaking cooperation with the zondacrypto exchange, not only general sponsorship was announced, but also the launch of the token Team Poland (TMPL) – the world’s first official token of the Olympic organization. This is a revolution in sports financing that may permanently change the way we support young and ambitious Polish athletes.
Tangible benefits for Olympians
PKOL’s cooperation with zondacrypto brings tangible benefits now. As announced by the president of the Polish Olympic Committee, Radosław Piesiewicz, the financial rewards for Olympic athletes are doubled thanks to an additional payment in tokens. For the gold medal, the athlete will receive PLN 500,000 – half in cash, half in tokens. The silver medal is PLN 400,000 (PLN 200,000 in both forms), and the bronze medal is PLN 300,000 (PLN 150,000 each).
As Radosław Piesiewicz said:
We not only give them money, but also tokens that can be used to pay in other ways.
This is not the first such payment in Polish sports. The president of zondacrypto, Przemysław Kral, confirmed that the exchange has already paid a bonus of EUR 20,000 in ZND tokens to Agnieszka Skalniak-Sujka for her results in the Tour de France. The cyclist herself confirmed receiving the cryptocurrency prize.
Token Team Poland – what is it and how will it work?
Token Team Poland (TMPL) is a real revolution in the Polish sports segment. As the president of PKOL said:
The premiere of the token we are talking about today will be between February 4 and 6… The Winter Games in Kortina start on February 6
At the same time, the president of the zondacrypto exchange, Przemysław Kral, he presented this initiative this way:
The world’s first token of an Olympic organization… we present the new Team PL token, a new fuel for Polish sport
The token will be based on smart contract technology, which guarantees full transparency.

This is a strong response to frequent accusations of lack of transparency in sports financing. Blockchain doesn’t lie – all transactions will be visible and verifiable.
Team Poland will be a deflationary token. The number of tokens in circulation will be determined in advance, and the mechanisms built into the smart contract will gradually reduce their number on the market. In theory, this can support long-term value growth, although of course cryptocurrencies always involve investment risk. The token is to be listed on at least three exchanges, including, of course, zondacrypto.

Team Poland is just the beginning. During the conference, it was announced that the next token to be created will be dedicated to the Polish Cycling Association. As Przemysław Kral said:
Another union token will appear for the Polish Cycling Association – it will be the first “child” of Team Poland
This is a strong signal that the model can be replicated for other sports associations, creating an extensive sports financing infrastructure based on blockchain.
Fans with voting rights
Another innovation is the voting system for token holders. As Przemysław Kral explained:
We also want fans to be able to vote… choose, for example, the color of the bus or the broadcast time – we activate the community
This is an attempt to really involve fans in the life of Polish sport, going beyond traditional forms of support.
Athletes about a new initiative
The PKOL & zondacrypto initiative was enthusiastically welcomed by the athletes themselves. Dominik Czaja (Olympic Games bronze medalist, rowing) said:
The TMPL token is something special and unique. This is a huge step into the future, especially for fans who will be able to directly support their favorite athletes
