At the beginning of March, President Donald Trump published two posts promoting the “strategic cryptocurrency reserve” of the USA at Truth Social. He mentioned in them that the reserve would contain not only bitcoins, but also Ethers or XRP. Now it comes to light that the first post was a lobbyist from Washington, Blian Ballard.
More precisely: according to Politico reports, the idea for the post came from a Ballard lobbying company who talked to Trump several times during a weekend event for donors in Mar-a-Lago. Apparently, he urged the president to publicly support the cryptocurrency industry, and even suggested a language that a politician could use in communication.
Trump did not know at the time that Ripple, whose native XRP token was mentioned in his first post, was a customer of Ballarda. The General Director of BRAD Garlinghouse did not hide that he wanted XRP to be in the proposed digital assets reserve. So there are many indications that it was an attempt to influence Trump.
When the president learned about Ballard’s connections with Ripple, he was to get angry and told the white house to cut off the lobbyist and not have any conversations with him.

Since Trump’s return to the White House, Ballard Partners, a lobbyist company, has acquired as many as 130 new customers and earned $ 14 million for the first three months of 2025 – it is more than three times more than in the same period last year.
