Free Adobe clones, PS5 games for PC. Will AI recreate GTA VI at launch?

Seven free apps instead of an Adobe subscription, Call of Duty in Chrome and trying to run PS5 games on your computer. The paradox is that the same AI that caused corporations to lay off workers now helps them copy their own software for free.

  • ArtCraft provides seven free applications inspired by Adobe tools. The projects are in the early stages of development.
  • The creator of Open Fastfile declares that the project was created mainly with AI. The tool imports Call of Duty maps from your existing games.
  • There’s no confirmation that GTA VI will run on PC with these tools at launch – but there’s a good chance the title’s PS5 exclusivity won’t last long.

Instead of paying for another subscription, the user downloads a free editor resembling a program he knows from work. This is the choice offered by ArtCraft. Public code and installers allow you to check the application’s operation on your own files. Similar experiments apply to games. However, reproducing the app and demonstrating a single map require separate evaluations.

Adobe has seven free alternatives

On the ArtCraft website, PhotoCraft for images, VectorCraft for vector graphics, and FilmCraft for video editing are available. The list on the website also includes tools for RAW photos, PDF documents, effects and typesetting of publications. The team presents the applications as free and open source. On the website, it marks PhotoCraft and PdfCraft as early alpha and the rest as developing projects.

This is a start, not a ready-made replacement. The creators of PhotoCraft describe it as an independent implementation of Photoshop in Rust, made using the clean room method. It’s about your own code that reproduces the program’s behavior. However, the creators’ declaration requires checking the origin of the code.

The file must work. Interface compatibility does not prove that professional graphic designer documents can be opened correctly. If an editor spoils a client’s document, a free license does not compensate for the lost job.

Black Ops in the browser needs clarification

The author of Open Fastfile declares that he wrote the project mainly with the help of AI. The documentation describes the import of maps from Call of Duty games you own on Steam, including Black Ops. The creator reserves the right to make errors and the experimental nature of the tool. He points to Modern Warfare 3 as the best supported game.

According to the documentation, the Zombies mode in Black Ops is partially working and requires fixes. The author also describes the functional Zombies mode from Black Ops II in private matches. This does not mean moving entire campaigns and all modes to Chrome. The scope is narrower.

Recovering functions and copying protected items require separate consideration. The CJEU judgment distinguishes between the functionality of a program and the protected form of its expression. The new code does not automatically give you the right to distribute other people’s game materials.

PS5 games on PC are already starting. GTA VI remains a question

AnyPS5 covers the conversion of executable files to Windows and Linux formats and replacement console libraries. The creators document the operation of the Dreaming Sarah platformer. This is the result of a specific test.

In the Prosper table, updated on October 9, the authors indicate the launch of gameplay fragments, including: in Dead Cells and The Messenger. They emphasize that reaching the stage does not mean that the title will be fully playable. This documentation does not confirm that the entire PS5 system will run on Windows.

Rockstar announces GTA VI on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There are no demonstrations of how to use this game with the described tools in reliable sources. GTA VI on PC on its release date remains speculation. Launching a simpler game does not set a deadline for recreating Rockstar’s production, but it will certainly be one of the more tasty morsels for software pirates.

AI could undermine the subscriptions of the companies it helps

Companies can use AI to automate work and reduce costs. However, the same tools reach people building competitive applications. The risk for paid software providers increases if less and less work is required to recreate needed features. The user doesn’t have to get every feature of Photoshop. All he needs is a reliable replacement for those he is currently paying for.

This is a dangerous scenario for a business based on the belief that reproducing a product is too expensive for a small competitor. An AI rewrite of all software remains speculative. Code does not replace content rights or reliability. If you want to check out a free alternative, start with a copy of your own document and check the export result before handing the file over to the client.
