Bitbit changes the rules of the game
August 2025 will go down in history as a moment when tipping on X has become as simple as a post like. Bitbit, a new browser extension based on Lightning Network, allows about 500 million users of the X portal to send tips in Satoshi (Sats) without any intermediaries.
What does this mean in practice? Your @username on X automatically becomes the address of the Bitcoin portfolio. Sounds amazing? Welcome to 2025, i.e. at the moment when the adoption of cryptocurrencies enters a completely new level.
How does bitbit work step by step?
1. Installation and configuration (2 minutes of work)

- Log in your user with x
- Ready! Your @username is now the Bitcoin portfolio address
Safety attention: Bitbit generates private keys on your side and encrypts them locally. This means full control over funds. Just don’t forget to make a backup seed phrase – this is your insurance policy, which is in line with the principle of “not your key, not your coins”.
2. Sending tips (even simpler)
A new button appears under each post and profile – the “bit” icon. Click, select the amount (21 Sats is a popular symbolic value referring to the BTC supply limit), confirm and Voilà – tip in BTC (or more precisely in Sats) has been sent!
Alternative method: You can also answer under the post of command “Tip 21 sats @bitbit_bot” – the bot will capture and process it.
3. What if the recipient has no bitbit?
It gets interesting here. Sats are “blocked” for 21 days. The recipient can pick them up by installing the extension, and if not – they come back to you. Elegant solution, right?
Lightning Network – a technology that allows all this
All magic happens thanks to Lightning Network – a second -layer of Bitcoin. Effect? The transactions are rapid and cost a fraction of the cent (below 0.01 USD). This is the end of waiting for confirmation and high fees.
Decentralization in its purest form-no intermediaries, no banks, only peer-to-peer. Just like Satoshi, Nakamoto dreamed. Bitbit tips are the perfect solution for:
