Key takeaways:
- The UCE Research study commissioned by Kanga Exchange shows that: 32.1% of Poles do not consider cryptocurrencies to be risky assets.
- Nearly 50% of respondents have the opposite opinion.
Poles and their opinion about cryptocurrencies
It is worth adding, however, that the study was carried out after the zondacrypto scandal.
Recently, the topic of cryptocurrencies has been very loud in the media and is characterized by high volatility, which naturally focuses on all social fear of loss.
– he told the media.
In turn, Dominik Tomczyk, substantive consultant of the study, CEO of Paybull It, cooperating with Kanga Exchange, notes other elements. The average Pole may feel lost now: European Union countries are implementing MiCA regulations and organizing the industry, but this process is not taking place in Poland. More precisely: there is an ongoing conflict between the president and the government regarding how to regulate the bitcoin and altcoin markets.
Education is necessary
Experts from UCE Research believe that education should be key: explaining how financial markets work. It is also worth making Poles realize that not only cryptocurrency valuations can change significantly.
There have been and are scandals or dishonest managers on every market, not only crypto. The collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2018 showed us that traditional banks can also cause a global financial disaster. On traditional stock exchanges, declines of 50 or 75% also happen. Even a very well-regulated market for any asset does not guarantee that investors will not lose their money. We had entities subject to supervision, such as SKOK, Amber Gold or GetBack bonds, and yet abuses occurred. However, in Poland, in the minds of an ordinary investor, a regulated entity will always be the number 1 choice over an unregulated entity
– adds Dominik Tomczyk.
The study was conducted using the CAWI (Computer-Assisted Web Interview) method, which involves conducting computer-assisted online surveys. The study was carried out by the analytical and research platform UCE RESEARCH for Kanga Exchange on a nationwide sample of 1,003 adult Poles aged 18-80. Respondents were selected randomly (i.e. in terms of age, gender and region) using a research panel, and participation in the study was anonymous.
