The government continues its attack on Prof.’s bill. Krzysztof Piech. This time it was about “stools” – Bitcoin.pl

A new act has appeared in the Sejm that may regulate the cryptocurrency market – this time authored by Prof. Krzysztof Piech. MP Sławomir Ćwik from the Center has been attacking her for several days. And he uses increasingly pathetic arguments.

Prof. Act Krzysztof Piech

Let’s recall the arithmetic once again: there are 460 MPs. The bill can be supported by PiS, Konfederacja and Konfederacja Korony Polskiej, which, however, have a total of only 207 MPs. Assuming the full composition of the house, there will be a shortage of 24. PSL has 32 MPs. The question is whether the party will be “for” or “against”.

The opposition of the Center, a new parliamentary club that was established after the division of Poland 2050 into two camps, seems more and more real.

MP Sławomir Ćwik has already accused Prof. Piech for not daring to consult the project with the Government Legislation Center. Now he went a step further and suggested that the bill is actually about a new stool.

The Confederation project led by Sławomir Mentzen on cryptoassets provides for an additional, fourth Deputy Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. This is an additional cost of administration counted in millions during the term of office of the Head of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. And these Kipocrites talk about reducing administration costs?

Prof. reacted to his entry. Piech:

Today, the Polish Financial Supervision Authority has deputies responsible for: banks, capital market, insurance.

After the entry of MiCA, the crypto-asset market becomes another segment of the EU financial market. The question is not “if”, but who should supervise it: a crypto specialist or a bank official.

MP Ćwik did not give up easily and replied:

Please read the law. 16 fields of supervision in accordance with Art. 1 section 1. No offense, but the banking, pension, insurance and capital market sectors are incomparably more important, but the legislator did not find it appropriate to dedicate “special” Deputy Heads of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority to them. It doesn’t work like that.

Will the bill not pass?

It looks as if MP Ćwik was delegated to criticize Prof.’s bill. Piecha. In a non-substantive way, let’s add.

It is still difficult to understand the government’s logic: it is losing the fight for a large electorate, and it will force Polish companies from the cryptocurrency market to move their headquarters to other countries and pay taxes there – generated with the help of Polish customers.
