Zondacrypto: 7 thousand emails on the last day. Anyone who didn’t make it in time goes to the end of the queue

  • The basic deadline for submitting claims to the zondacrypto trustee expired on Tuesday, October 27. On that day, over 7,000 letters were sent to the trustee’s office. emails.
  • A week earlier there were about 5 thousand. claims for approximately EUR 40 million. The mass revealed in Estonia is approximately 167,000. euro, i.e. approximately 0.4% of this amount.
  • The trustee accepts applications after the deadline, but in the third category. In his opinion, a significant return for this group is unlikely.

The last day of the deadline brought an avalanche. The trustee, Margus Lentsius, told PAP that on October 27, over 7,000 people came to his office. emails regarding zondacrypto. This is not yet the number of creditors. How many of these messages are duplicates and simple questions, and how many are real claims, will be known in November or later.

How much is known about the claims

The chairman of the creditors’ committee, Damian Przybyłowski, told PAP on October 22 about approx. 5,000. claims for a total amount of approximately EUR 40 million. He also recalled the trustee’s estimate that the final sum would not exceed EUR 50 million. It is not known yet whether the emails from the last day will change these numbers.

What’s in a bankruptcy estate?

The court in Tallinn, announcing the company’s bankruptcy in August, valued its assets disclosed in Estonia at approximately PLN 167,000. euro, as described in the text about the September meeting of creditors. With claims of EUR 40 million, it is approximately 0.4%. This figure only applies to Estonia, not all assets linked to the case.

The Polish prosecutor’s office operates separately. The National Prosecutor’s Office announced on October 23 that the investigation has so far seized property worth approximately PLN 125 million, as well as 11 luxury cars worth approximately PLN 4 million. However, she noted that not all of these assets could be used to satisfy the exchange’s clients, as some of them related to other aspects of the case.

What happens after the deadline

The trustee still accepts applications after October 27, but classifies them as the third category. These claims will only be considered once the second category has been fully satisfied. Lentsius estimates that in the current state of bankruptcy, significant satisfaction of the third category is unlikely.

Now the trustee is checking the documents and will contact creditors regarding any deficiencies in the reports. The exact number of creditors and the sum of claims are to be known in November or later.

What does this mean to you

Reporting to the prosecutor’s office does not replace reporting to the trustee. The prosecutor’s office itself emphasizes that criminal and bankruptcy proceedings are separate and have different goals. How to go both ways is described step by step in the zondacrypto recovery guide.

If you have submitted a claim, please check your inbox and spam folder. The trustee announces contact regarding missing documents, so respond quickly and send what he asks for. If you missed it, please apply anyway. The third category is not much, but without reporting there is no chance.

Today, no one knows how much anyone will get back. It depends on what assets the trustee finds and what part of the collateral from Poland will ultimately go to the injured parties.
