Robinhood achieves the highest number of RWA holders. He overtook the current leaders – Bitcoin.pl

Key conclusions

  • Robinhood became the largest blockchain by real-world asset (RWA) holders less than a month after its mainnet launch.
  • The platform has gathered almost 330,000 RWA investors, overtaking projects such as Solana, Ethereum and BNB Chain in this category.
  • The dominance comes from direct access to millions of traditional brokerage clients, although Ethereum still holds the first position in terms of total asset value.

The Ethereum layer 2 network, launched on July 1, has gained the title of the fastest growing ecosystem for real-world assets. The project run by the Robinhood brand has achieved a leading position in terms of the number of unique holders of tokenized assets. Just a dozen or so days were enough for the new infrastructure to overtake the mature blockchain networks that have so far led in this segment.

Robinhood’s massive distribution and competitive advantage

The rapid growth in the number of investors on the Robinhood platform is not a coincidence. Many cryptocurrency projects build their user base from scratch, looking for audiences exclusively among blockchain technology enthusiasts. A different approach was taken here. The company leveraged its existing base of millions of traditional brokerage account customers.

The shift from retail investors to on-chain products happened naturally. Analytical data from the RWA.xyz website indicate that the network currently has almost 330,000 holding investors. The total value of assets distributed on it is $24.12 million, and the value represented exceeds $20 million. Approximately 1,900 tokenized assets have been integrated on the platform, generating a monthly transfer volume of $750 million.

In terms of the number of holders, the leader is the Solana network, followed by Plume, Ethereum and BNB Chain.

Ethereum still leads in terms of capitalization

Even though the new network wins in the statistics regarding the number of wallets, the capital distribution is different. Ethereum remains the main leader in terms of the total value of frozen assets.

There are currently nearly $18 billion in RWA assets on the Ethereum network. BNB Chain is in second place, and Solana is in third place. The low average portfolio value in the Robinhood network is due to the fact that it is mainly used by small retail investors trading tokenized shares and ETF funds from the US market.

The infrastructure is based on Arbitrum technology, and the final settlement of transactions takes place directly on Ethereum. The architecture has been prepared to meet stringent regulatory requirements.

Memecoin trading drives network activity

Despite the promotion of tokenized securities, it is not traditional shares that are currently the main driving force of the on-chain movement. The largest part of the volume on decentralized exchanges is generated by memecoin trading.

An example of this phenomenon was the recent rise in popularity of the CASHCAT token. The asset gained a huge valuation in a few days, and then recorded an equally rapid decline in value. This phenomenon showed the high liquidity, but also the highly speculative nature of the early phase of ecosystem development.

At the same time, there is a noticeable development of the segment of digital equivalents of fiat currencies. Information from DeFiLlama indicates that the market capitalization of stablecoins on this network increased by 22%, exceeding $500 million.
